Who We Are

Shared Financial Services (SFS) strengthens small and midsized nonprofits by giving them the tools to build financial literacy, make data-informed decisions, and clearly communicate their financial story.

We are guided by the values of equity, efficiency, transparency, integrity, and affordability.

SFS is a fiscally sponsored program of New Sun Rising and a program of Elevate NP of Southwestern Pennsylvania, a regional capacity-building initiative working with nonprofits, funders, and partners to expand access to knowledge, build networks, and increase community impact.

At SFS, you’ll work alongside passionate professionals who bring rigor, empathy, and approachability to nonprofit finance. Together, we help organizations build strong systems, sustain impact, and use their financial data to generate resources and drive strategy.

Introduction

The Finance team at SFS operates in a fast-paced, high-impact environment that supports multiple small and midsize client nonprofits with diverse missions, sectors, and financial complexities. Our work helps organizations translate financial data into clear decisions that strengthen programs, partnerships, and sustainability.

We’re seeking a Finance Manager who brings both analytical discipline and consultative acumen, someone who is equally comfortable digging into a detailed balance sheet reconciliation and guiding a client through accounting concepts in plain language. Depending on the engagement scope, the Finance Manager serves as either the lead financial advisor or a key strategic partner to the CFO. In both cases, they oversee the day-to-day work through month-end reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial operations across their clients.

This is an ideal opportunity for a finance professional who thrives on variety, service, and purpose, balancing detailed execution with strategic influence.

Develop & Communicate Financial Reports

Support Strategic Decision-Making

Partner with the CFO and client executives on budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning, providing data that supports their work.

Develop Finance Associates, maintain consistency in internal workflows, and build scalable procedures that balance efficiency and quality.
